Linda Bergman, interior architect and owner
A Unique Villa on the Swedish Coast
The Falsterbo Peninsula on Sweden’s southwestern tip is home to some of the most beautiful beaches and most luxurious villas in Scandinavia. When property developers and interior architects Linda and Mikael Bergman decided to create a private residence there, they had one aim: To build an energy-efficient high-end residence with the latest smart-home technology. The result, situated just 100 meters from the famous Ljunghusen beach, is a clean, classic design in a modern material mix. Featuring walnut, brass, marble and polished concrete, the interiors are thoughtfully conceived, tastefully curated and practically seamless, with no visible thresholds or unnecessary frames. When designing the bathrooms, the owners selected and customized a range of AXOR products to align with their sophisticated vision.
In the five master bathrooms, all fixtures are finished in Brushed Black Chrome, one of numerous exclusive AXOR FinishPlus surfaces. The AXOR Starck Organic faucets at the washbasin set new standards for water and energy conservation while harmonizing elegantly with the black marble walls and walnut accents. At the bathtub, the slender, sculpted form of the freestanding AXOR Starck Organic bath mixer further enhances the refined aesthetic. In the shower, the AXOR ShowerHeaven 4jet version with cocooning PowderRain spray type is paired with an AXOR thermostatic module for five outlets, ensuring an immersive shower experience that is truly customizable. In the smaller bathrooms, meanwhile, the AXOR Starck 2-handle washbasin faucet and products from the AXOR Showers program are finished in another exclusive AXOR FinishPlus surface, Brushed Red Gold, which offers a resplendent contrast to the beige Versace marble.
The Bergman’s villa includes two guest houses and offers a wide range of amenities and features, from the three-car garage, special made swimming pool, cinema room, restaurant kitchen, wine & champagne bar to iconic architectural and decorative lighting from Italian Flos and Danish Louis Poulsen. While the home has an air of the Hollywood Hills in the 1950s, it is perfectly positioned within a region widely referred to as the Swedish Riviera. Along with its captivating landscape and beautiful Baltic Sea beaches, the Falsterbo Peninsula boasts one of the best golf clubs in Sweden and is home to the country’s International Horse Jumping Grand Prix. The peninsula’s close proximity to Malmö and Copenhagen ensures a steady stream of well-heeled visitors who are sure to appreciate the charms of a villa such as the Bergman’s.
