The bathroom as an escapist retreat

In a world of uncertainty, the bathroom has become the ultimate escape.  A place to cocoon ourselves in order to relieve stress and to reconnect with creativity. 

In the AXOR whitepaper titled “Escape the Ordinary”, you can find out more about this emerging trend and the importance of these intimate spaces for well being and health.

Create a cocoon

Based on our whitepaper, create a cocoon-inspired hotel bathroom.  

If you are a design student, enrolled or graduated within the last 3 years, from a design course in the UK or Ireland then enter our AXOR competition by Sunday 14 December 2025 at midnight UK time via email to marketing@hansgrohe.co.uk (new extended deadline!).

Create a bathroom retreat between 15m² and 20m² in size that could be recreated in a hotel setting using AXOR products.

AXOR Emerging Designer competition - Terms & Conditions

The organiser of the competition is: Hansgrohe UK (UK Office), Unit 2, EdgehillDrive, Tournament Fields, Warwick CV34 6XQ. By participating in the competition, the participant accepts the following participation conditions.

Participation is open to all Design Students, enrolled or graduated within the past 3 years from an interior design course in the UK and Ireland, regardless of their place or country of residence. Employees of Hansgrohe Group and affiliated companies as well as participants under the age of 18 are excluded from participation.

Each person may only participate once.

  • To participate in the competition, please see additional powerpoint .
  •  You must submit one pdf-presentation of 10MB max by Sunday 14 December 2025 at midnight UK time via email to marketing@hansgrohe.co.uk (new extended deadline!)

The prizes are:

  1. A trip to Schiltach, the home of AXOR.  Accompanied by an AXOR UK sales manager and other architects and designers. Travel to and from a UK airport is included.  Hotel and meals will be included.  You will be given 3 date options in early 2026 to choose from for travel during 2026.
  2. An annual membership to the Festival of Hospitality for 2026.  Any travel costs incurred with attending these events is not covered in the prize. 
  3. Second and third prize – Hansgrohe Group goody bag including a hand shower

The prizes are subject to availability, and Hansgrohe reserves the right to replace any prize with another of equal value without prior notice. No cash alternative can be offered for the prizes and the prizes are not transferrable.

The winners will be selected from all submissions verified by Hansgrohe  based on the criteria in the additional document. The judges are Anke Sohn, Marketing Director, AXOR, Tolu Adeko, Founder of Adeko Studios, Bez Amdemichael, Senior Designer, Goddard Littlefair, Alex Holloway, Creative Director, Holloway Li, Hamish Kilburn, Journalist and Owner of Kilburn Communications. The judges’ decision is final.

The winners will be announced at The Festival of Hospitality event in London early in 2026.

The winners will be subsequently contacted by Hansgrohe UK using the email and/or the telephone number provided. The winners must contact Hansgrohe UK within 15 days of notification, via email to marketing@hansgrohe.com to confirm acceptance of the prize. If the winners do not report within this period, Hansgrohe UK reserves the right not to award the prize to this person and to select a replacement winner.

Legal recourse and cash payment of the prizes are excluded.

Addresses and all personal data will be stored electronically for the duration of the competition and used exclusively for processing your participation in accordance with the applicable data protection regulations. Your contact details will be kept on file and you will be contacted in relation to the following year’s student event and competition, unless you object to this by contacting privacy@hansgrohe.com for this purpose at any time.

  Pictures of The successful  design and designers may be used for PR & Marketing to promote the winners and to promote the following year’s competition on the webpages of Hansgrohe SE  and of the brand AXOR (National and international), on  Social media and Newsletter communication, on Internal and external presentations. The pictures will be used worldwide for an unlimited period of time and for all communication channels as detailed above. However, each participant will retain the intellectual property rights of your designs and sketches. The legal basis for processing the images is our legitimate interest in reporting on the event. Otherwise, we collect and use your personal data based on legal authorizations and in accordance with our privacy policy, available at www.hansgrohe-group.com/en/data-protection.
