A vivacious monument to the City of Angels.

The Conrad Los Angeles marks a new chapter in luxury hospitality in Downtown LA—bold, expressive and distinctly Californian. This latest entry in Hilton’s luxury hotel collection is housed within a twenty-story tower in the Grand LA, a monumental mixed-use project designed by legendary architect Frank Gehry.

Terrace of the Conrad, Los Angeles

Heralded as “the most transformative development in Los Angeles”, it includes affordable housing, luxury rentals and a massive shopping plaza in a central downtown address opposite another Gehry-designed icon: the Walt Disney Concert Hall. Inside, the Conrad Los Angeles includes 305 guest rooms, five restaurants and bars, a rooftop swimming pool and a fitness center.

Interior of the Conrad, Los Angeles

Tasked with conceiving the marquee resort’s interiors were none other than London-based studio Tara Bernerd & Partners, which has taken inspiration from, and responds to, Gehry Partners’ unique, captivating, statement architecture, mixed with the grand tradition of the West Coast Modernist movement, with its holistic design and links to nature, as well as the architecture and culture of downtown LA itself.

The Lobby of the Conrad, Los Angeles

Perfect harmony

Throughout the lobby, the sculptural ceiling changes heights, undulating as it echoes the rhythms of the façade. A rich palette of pale linens, interspersed with sophisticated blues, rich woven fabrics and pops of mustard yellow compliments the wide-planked pale oak floors, polished concrete and Ceppo stone.

The guest rooms and suites in modern Californian style

Guest rooms and suites expand on this palette with a blend of oak paneling, wide-planked pale oak floors and contemporary art to convey the ultimate in modern Californian cool. Naturally, Tara Bernerd & Partners selected AXOR for the bathrooms of this urban oasis.

Timeless Californian elegance with AXOR

Each guest bathroom is a restrained yet serene composition of smoked glass, white marble and charcoal notes. A diverse selection of AXOR fixtures in Brushed Black Chrome elevates the atmosphere, with every arrangement tailored to the unique layout of each bathroom - and subtly echoing the sculptural precision of Gehry’s architecture.

At the washbasin, a careful blend of organic AXOR Urquiola and minimalist AXOR Citterio faucets welcomes guests. For the shower, Tara Bernerd & Partners selected an ensemble of collections that deliver both modernist aesthetics and outstanding comfort: AXOR Starck, AXOR Citterio, and AXOR ShowerSolutions.

By the bath, guests can luxuriate in panoramic views of Downtown LA with a generous floor-standing AXOR Massaud bath faucet—its distinct waterfall-shaped spray an ideal complement to the cascading facade of the Walt Disney Concert Hall below.

A series of AXOR Universal Accessories in softsquare shapes ties the space together.

Grand. Enduring. More Sustainable.

The Conrad Los Angeles not only embodies the distinct style and grandeur of its namesake city—it also responds to its drought-affected community’s imperative for responsible, eco-conscious development. AXOR is an integral part of this mission. Each AXOR product offers outstanding performance while meeting the strictest local guidelines for water and energy consumption. In doing so, it supports the Grand LA’s pursuit of hospitality excellence and rigorous LEED standards*, —making the Conrad Los Angeles a lasting monument to community, culture, and future-conscious development in the City of Angels and beyond.
