Protecting personal data is extremely important to Hansgrohe SE. We collect, process and use your personal data exclusively (a) based on and within the scope of our legal powers or (b) with your separate declaration of consent. The following sections contain information about our legal powers, except when specific reference is made to the need for a declaration of consent.
Enabling utilisation of our website content
When you access the information on our website, we collect and store the following usage data short-term in order to facilitate usage for you: characteristics that identify you (your IP address, where applicable user names and passwords), information about the start, end, type and extent of your usage, as well as information about the type of browser and operating system that you use. This technical process is essential when accessing websites on the WWW. The same procedure applies when you access content from our newsletters (except where otherwise permitted by law, our newsletters are only sent at your request and with your explicit consent).
Personal data voluntarily provided by you
When you voluntarily submit personal data to us such as names, title, e-mail or postal address, phone numbers, personal messages, etc. via contact forms on our website, or via e-mail or other mail, we store and use this information for the purposes of providing the particular service requested (e.g. sending the information requested, answering technical or other queries, responding to your website feedback).
You can use an application form on our website to apply to carry out activities (e.g. job, dissertation, training) at a Hansgrohe group company in Germany. We will pass on any personal data provided by you via the form (including document attachments) to the German company advertising the position. This is for the sole purpose of implementing the application procedure. Once we have forwarded your personal data, we will delete it immediately. The company advertising the position will delete this information within six months of conclusion of the application process. In each case, this applies on the condition that there is no legal obligation to store the data for a longer period.
You can use the Dealer locator on our website to send a contact request to the dealer of your choice. We do not check the information submitted by you, but we pass on your enquiry directly to the dealer, who then obtains the information submitted by you, including your personal data. Once we have forwarded this information, we will delete it from our system unless you wish to take part in the evaluation of the dealer or unless we have a legal obligation to store it for a longer period.
If you use our “Dealer recommendation” function, we will store the e-mail addresses, mobile phone numbers and names that you specify for sender and recipient, as well as any message that you may have entered, for the purposes of transmitting the message. Once the e-mail has been sent, we will delete the personal data immediately unless we have a legal obligation to store it for a longer period.
If you use our e-card feature, we will store the e-mail addresses and names that you specify for sender and recipient, as well as the message that you entered plus your IP address, for the purposes of transmitting the message. Once the e-mail has been sent, we will delete the personal data immediately unless we have a legal obligation to store it for a longer period.
Your personal data will only be used for advertising purposes without your express consent within the strict limits provided by law. You will not be contacted via e-mail or phone for advertising purposes without your express consent. Based on and within the scope of our legal powers, we process and use the following personal data voluntarily provided by you to the degree required (1) for the purposes of advertising our own services or (2) to transmit this data to Hansgrohe group companies for their advertising: your affiliation to a group of people (e.g. your status as a Hansgrohe customer or prospective buyer), name, title, academic degree, job title, branch or business title, address (but not your phone or e-mail contact details) and year of birth. For the purposes of advertising our own services, in addition to this information we also store and use any other data that we have legitimately obtained. Where we transmit the aforementioned data to group companies associated with us for their advertising purposes, these companies are legally obliged to inform you that they have obtained the data from us (through a notice to this effect in the promotional material, etc.). In such cases, we store information about the source and recipient of the data for a period of two years. You may object to the use of your personal data for advertising purposes at any time.
Information about your usage behaviour
Since we aim to optimise our services and advertising to meet our customers' requirements, we need information about general customer usage behaviour. We therefore use the user data that we have legitimately collected when enabling utilisation of our website to compile usage profiles with the aid of pseudonyms. This means that we replace any information in the user data which could be used to identify you (such as IP address, user names, passwords) with an abstract feature. Usage profiles will not be merged with your personal data or used for any other purposes. You may object to the use of your personal data to create usage profiles at any time.
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, i.e. text files that are stored on your computer, enabling an analysis of how you use the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to one of Google's servers in the USA, where it is stored. However, if IP anonymisation is activated on this website, your IP address is abbreviated beforehand within EU Member States or in other states who are party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Your full IP address will only be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and abbreviated there in exceptional cases. On behalf of this website operator, Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity and providing other services relating to website and internet usage for the website operator. Google will not associate the IP address transmitted by your browser within the scope of Google Analytics with any other data held by Google. You may prevent the storage of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings in your browser software. However, please note that if you do this, you may not be able to make use of the full functionality of this website. You may also prevent the data generated by the cookie, and related to your usage of the website (including your IP address), being captured and processed by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available via the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de. In view of the discussion surrounding the use of analytical tools with complete IP addresses, we would like to point out that this website uses Google Analytics with the extension “anonymizeIp()” and that consequently IP addresses are further processed only in an abbreviated form to exclude a direct link to persons.
Moreover, we also use Google Analytics to evaluate data from AdWords and the double-click cookie for statistical purposes. If you do not want this, you can disable it via the Ad Preferences Manager. For more information about terms and conditions of use and data protection, please go to http://www.google.com/analytics/terms/de.html or http://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/.
We have installed the "tynt" tool on some of our websites. When you copy and paste content from these websites into e-mails or post it on social media pages (e.g. Facebook), then this tool adds a link to the relevant website and tells us which website has been accessed via the copy and paste. This information is collected on a purely anonymous basis. At no time can Hansgrohe see who has shared that particular content or with whom. For more information on this tool, please go to www.tynt.com.
External service providers
When we collect and use personal data, we are assisted to some extent by selected service providers who, under the terms of their contract with us, act subject to strict instructions, and who are checked by us before commencing their activities and subsequently monitored on a regular basis.

Cookies make websites work better
Cookies are small text files placed on your computer by websites or sometimes by e-mails. They provide useful information to companies. For you the user, it means you can use the site more efficiently, for example you don't need to re-enter details each time you visit. Cookies also make sure you receive relevant information from us.
We use two types of cookies on our websites:
Session cookies that are deleted after each visit.
Persistent cookies that remain in place throughout multiple visits to our sites.
All of these cookies are essential for using our websites successfully.
Session cookies are used by a server to store information about activities on our sites so that users can easily pick up where they left off on those sites. As a rule, websites don't have a "memory". Cookies tell the server what pages to show the user so the user doesn't have to remember or start navigating the site all over again. Cookies act as a sort of “bookmark” within our sites.
Persistent or tracking cookies are used to store user preferences. You can restrict, delete or disable cookies via your browser's settings if you wish, but this will restrict the functions that you're able to carry out on our sites. For more information about how to disable cookies, please go to the About cookies website.
Here’s a list of our essential cookies plus a brief description:
This cookie identifies you as visitor when navigating between pages and stores specific characteristics and settings for displaying teasers etc. This cookie will be deleted automatically once you leave the website.
We also use the following Google Analytics Cookies:
These cookies are used to collect statistical information about user behaviour, which we use to improve the website. These cookies collect information in an anonymous form, e.g. the number of visitors to the site, where visitors have come to the site from and which pages they visited. This information is saved beyond the end of the session and will be available at the next visit.
