About Front

Their first designs for the young talent show in Milan immediately created a buzz on the designer scene. The young Swedish women met while studying at university in Stockholm and, immediately after graduating in industrial design in 2004, established their own design studio.

In the young designers from Sweden, Axor was looking for a fresh perspective on the shower. Their consistent delivery of striking creations in experimental design processes and within the combined collective was just what was needed for the Axor creations. This blurs the boundaries between design and art, always involving a touch of magic. "Our aim is to consistently add something special to a project or something that you would not expect." This is particularly reflected in the Axor ShowerProducts designed by Front.

So it is little wonder that interior designers Anna Lindgren and Sofia Lagerkvist developed a design studio that is in demand all over the world.

Their experimental creations are highly valued by Moroso, Porro, Moooi, Established & Sons, Kvadrat and also Stelton – plus, of course, Axor.

Aesthetics of the technology

The common path taken by Axor and Front in creating an Axor WaterDream: what does our reinterpretation of the modern shower look like?

The Swedish designers discovered their vision for the new shower in the old one. Intrigued by water pathways in their original form, they created a special kind of installation.

"We wanted to highlight the hidden technology in an elegant way and to create an alluring designer piece out of tubes, valves and funnels."

The Axor WaterDream installation enabled the Swedish designers to develop a showerpipe, a shower set and an overhead shower for the modern bathroom, which was presented with the London Designer Kitchen and Bathroom Award 2014.
