Axor Starck V well mixer: Elle Decor International Design Award for “Best Bathroom Design”

Axor Starck V well mixer featuring a water vortex

Award for Axor in Milan

Schiltach/Milan, April 2015. Second international media award for Axor Starck V this year: the editors-in-chief of the 25 Elle Decoration country editions awarded the glass mixer the Elle Decor International Design Award (EDIDA) in the “Best Bathroom Design” category. Philippe Grohe, Vice President of Design Management, accepted the award during last week's Salone del Mobile in Milan. Further to receiving the award for Best Domestic Design from the magazine Wallpaper* in February, Axor Starck V has now received another media accolade from one of the world’s most renowned interior design magazines.

These media awards confirm a trend: not only is the bathroom playing an increasingly important role, it is also attracting design-savvy customers who place great emphasis on customised solutions. Philippe Grohe commented: “The fact that we, together with Philippe Starck, have received two awards from internationally renowned magazines confirms what we believe: that it is not just designers, but also the design-savvy public who are paying increasing attention to the bathroom and to our innovations.”

Axor Starck V – the vitality of water
Axor's product development has always focused on the interplay between man, water and space. This principle is also reflected in Axor Starck V. With the beauty and dynamism of its vortex, the mixer bridges the gap between the functional and emotional aspects of water at the washbasin, transforming it from a basic commodity into a valuable resource.

The unobtrusive presence of the organic, transparent design adds special emphasis to any bathroom setting. It acts as a technical and aesthetic component: it makes the water visible, and allows the mixer body to blend in with its surroundings. The open spout of the mixer adds to the unique water experience, creating an emotional bond between user and water.

Axor Starck V features aesthetic, functional and sustainable design. For example, the spout of the mixer is made of organic crystal glass, an exceptionally durable material. The mixer also features a reduced flow rate of 4 l/minute – without compromising the user experience in any way. The rotatable, open and detachable spout offers added convenience; it is easy to install and can be cleaned in the dishwasher if required.
