Chinese Body Culture and the Global Bathroom – Beijing 2006

The inspiration of the fourth AquaTektur under the topic "The Bathroom in the Dialog of Cultures – The Chinese Body Culture and the Global Bathroom" was sought from its venue in Beijing, China's cultural capital. Participants primarily explored the interaction between architecture and water and between culture and bathrooms in order to come up with new solutions. They capitalized on the intriguing tension caused by the differences between Asia's and Europe's regional cultural traditions. The architects sought their own personal way to interpret these fundamental truths for today's world.
